In 2011 WYLG and Wotton Town Council successfully raised funds to create a dedicated Youth Centre in Wotton and the new Youth Centre was opened in November 2012.
Renamed Wotton Youth Partnership in December 2016.
Wotton Youth Partnership (formerly Wotton Youth Liaison Group), which consists of local organisations that work with young people has existed since 2001 to support youth work in the Wotton area.
The key aim of the Wotton Youth Partnership is to support young people in improving the outcomes they achieve in education, training, employment and community engagement.
It achieves this through working with a network of organisations to provide Youth Services to Young People in the area.
The new Youth Centre is the base for a range of activities in and around Wotton including:
Open sessions in the Youth Centre – to provide a safe space for Young People in Wotton where they can meet and socialise
An after school session in which Young People can work together to maximise their potential
Short courses for skills training - eg. Health and Safety, Babysitting etc.
Activities to build confidence and widen horizons – eg. outdoor activities
Provision of a local Youth Forum to build confidence and communication skills
Outreach work to meet with Young People in and around Wotton
